Germany's Rage originally hail from the ‘80s speed metal era, and to this day the band boast the same pummelling force and technical prowess that helped turn an aggressive subculture into a global metal renaissance. All the hallmarks are there: the driving, palm-muted chugging and the squealing whir of pinch harmonics—along with pinpoint precision in both percussion and high-flying guitar solos. Topping off the mix are vocals from Peavy Wagner, whose lower register stays the right side of intelligible but with a raw, vicious snarl that pulls no punches.
