During his solo emergence outside A$AP Mob in the early ‘10s, Ferg proved to be versatile, expanding beyond the trap rhymes he was first known for. The gritty, drum-heavy “Doe-Active” finds him menacing, boasting, and triumphant, but Auto-Tune-rich “Nasty (Who Dat)” shows him evolving in a playful direction, with an uptempo dance beat at the record's core. And “Feels So Good,” from A$AP Mob's 2017 release Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2, is a mellow, R&B-laced groove featuring Ferg's entire original crew.
