Editors’ Notes Peter Murphy got his start fronting the seminal goth band Bauhaus. After their 1983 breakup, he collaborated with bassist Mick Karn in Dali's Car and issued a sure-footed solo debut LP. His career hit its stride with 1988's simmering Love Hysteria and the next year's Deep. With the lush, Peter Gabriel–produced Cascade (1995) and the stunning Dust (2002), Murphy tackled everything from soaring dark pop to Turkish folk. In 2013, he celebrated 35 years of Bauhaus with a world tour and followed that with his 10th solo album, the lauded Lion.
