EDITORS’ NOTES

English guitarist/singer Peter Frampton started out playing in Humble Pie, and though he left the band prior to their biggest commercial success, he quickly established himself as a talented session player, recording with George Harrison and Harry Nilsson. Touring heavily, he steadily built an audience with his first solo outings and his signature "talk box" guitar effect. His breakthrough album, Frampton Comes Alive!, sold six million copies in the U.S. alone. After stints as an actor, a near-fatal car wreck, and a 2007 GRAMMY®, he remains the embodiment of mid-'70s guitar rock.
