Peach Tree Rascals Essentials
An arts-collective mindset and sunny indie-pop hooks quickly transformed the Peach Tree Rascals' members from high school upstarts into viral sensations. Together in 2018, in San Jose, CA, Isaac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, and Joseph Barros first bonded over their experience as second-generation immigrant kids of diverse backgrounds. Their hangouts turned into recording sessions, alternating singing and rapping duties, and soon drafting Dominic “Dom” Pizano to helm production and Jorge Olazaba to create the band's lush, cinematic visuals. The debut single “Glide” merged laidback DIY textures with mellow R&B and hip-hop grooves that became throbbing sonic signatures on future hits “Mariposa” and “Mango.” The group later headed to Yosemite National Park to flesh out the effervescent 2021 EP Camp Nowhere, which leaned into luscious synth-pop and soul.
