Osborne Brothers Essentials

After apprenticing with Bill Monroe, The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers, and Jimmy Martin, Bobby and Sonny Osborne started their own act in 1956 and joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1964. Bobby's known for his strong, high voice and sparkling mandolin solos, Sonny for his inventive banjo playing, and the pair for their unequaled vocal harmonies. Between the late '60s and late '70s, the bluegrass duo turned up on the lower rungs of the mainstream country charts more than a dozen times. Though Sonny retired in 2004, Bobby continued to record and tour with his band, The Rocky Top X-Press.
