Ornette Coleman: Next Steps

Ornette Coleman: Next Steps

Coming into his own during the '60s, saxophonist Ornette Coleman took the innovations of the bebop and ran wild. His free jazz improvisations were rhythmically and harmonically groundbreaking, and are noted even today for their raw emotion. Incredibly, some of his most mind-blowing pieces are buried deep in his albums, along with many of his impressively complex orchestral arrangements.
