Editors’ Notes Many session musicians stick to one, maybe two genres, but not Nir Zidkyahu. The Israeli drummer has spent his career (which took off after he played with Genesis in the ’90s) dipping into as many styles as possible. He can lay down silky funk for R&B-kissed divas like Alana Davis or tough backbeats for dark rockers like Chris Cornell. Zidkyahu has also conquered Music City, with his beats anchoring earworms from a slew of country stars.
