Nichols and May Essentials
Apple Music

Former classmates at the University of Chicago, Mike Nichols and Elaine May first worked together in the late '50s as members of The Compass Players, a forerunner to Second City. When they moved to New York, the pair solidified their comedic voice, which centered on their humorous conversations. Their Broadway show, An Evening With Mike Nichols and Elaine May, and the GRAMMY®-nominated recording of it, turned the duo into stars. The two split in '61, but went on to write and direct some of the 20th century's greatest films, including The Graduate and Heaven Can Wait.
