Editors’ Notes Eclectic—that's the best word to describe Mosh Ben Ari's music. After founding the group Sheva in the mid-'90s, Ben Ari introduced the market to something new: it was a little reggae, a touch of groovy rock, a bit of New Age philosophy and Middle Eastern musical elements—and it was a lot of fun. His solo career continued with this mixture of styles, but the lyrics became more focused and disciplined, with many songs reflecting on Israeli society and its problems. It might sound Jamaican, but the themes are always very much Israeli.
