Milton Nascimento: '60s & '70s

Rio de Janeiro found a grand ambassador in Milton Nascimento. In the heady post-samba ‘60s, the singer/songwriter drew on the collaborative energies of Clube da Esquina, the rock-influenced collective of like-minded Brazilian musicians he helped found. And as the ‘70s churned on, Nascimento found common cause with both American jazz and the traditional sounds of his native state, Minas Gerais.
