As far as crooners go, Michael Bublé is a generational talent—so it was practically his civic duty to record his now classic 2011 album Christmas. He of course had big shoes to fill, matching Johnny Mathis’ easy swing on “Holly Jolly Christmas,” Bing Crosby’s incandescence on “White Christmas,” and Frank Sinatra’s playful vamping on “Jingle Bells.” But like any great interpreter, Bublé has made these songs all his own, bringing modern elegance and pop-savvy production to not only the standards but cute originals like “The Christmas Sweater” and “Maybe This Christmas” as well.
