Mariss Jansons Essentials

Mariss Jansons Essentials

After winning second prize in the Herbert Von Karajan International Conducting Competition in 1971, Latvian conductor Mariss Jansons became one of the world’s greatest conductors. Going on to lead the London Phil, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Jansons stirred up intense emotions with his baton: His Mahler (Symphony No 5: Adagietto) is lovesick, his Brahms (Symphony No. 3) is positively rhapsodic, and his Tchaikovsky (Symphony No. 6) beams with both playfulness and gravity.
