Fans of all ages flock to hear singer-songwriter Mallu Magalhães, mesmerised by her multi-hued indie folk and quirky, fluttering vocals. Her first two eponymous LPs oscillated between country rock energy and intimate folk melancholy, sprinkled with acoustic, MPB and reggae notes. Meanwhile, 2011’s Pitanga introduced a misty breeze of samba and slow rockabilly as she fleshed out a textured sound, leading to cuts like “Sambinha Bom” and “Velha e Louca”.
