One of the more perpetually underrated figures in U.K. underground music, singer and guitarist Luke Sutherland formed post-rock band Long Fin Killie in Scotland in 1993. Inspired by the atmospheric dream-pop of Cocteau Twins and the jagged post-punk of The Fall, the group released three acclaimed albums and a number of EPs before splitting up in 1998. Sutherland was equally influenced by the intricate grooves of Krautrock and the rhythms of electronic dance music, which he went on to explore in his next project, Bows, blending shimmering dream pop with drum 'n' bass and trip-hop.
