Kings, Queens, and Princesses of Pop

There's no official entity that crowns an artist as pop royalty, but certain stars have inspired the media to. Frank Sinatra was the first King of Pop, though most would now assign that honor to Michael Jackson. Queen is up for grabs, with Whitney Houston, Madonna, Mariah Carey, and more laying claim. Younger artists like Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake are usually deigned Princess or Prince.
