Keeping Afloat in Tough Times

“On December 24th, 2011, while deployed with the 4th Infantry Division to Farah province, Afghanistan, I was wounded by an Afghan soldier we were training who turned and fired his machine gun on us. While recovering at Walter Reed, I joined the MusiCorps music rehab program and eventually became part of the MusiCorps Band. Being part of the band has provided some of the best experiences in my life so far and has helped keep me afloat in tough times.
