Kaaris introduced his upfront, heavy style with a debut mixtape in 2001. Following a stint in his native Ivory Coast, he returned to Paris for a series of under-the-radar releases. Discovered and championed by Booba, Kaaris has collaborated with his mentor on gangsta rap tracks that exhibit his raw approach while front-loading the low-slung trap beats and humongous sub-bass.
