Junior Wells' partnership with guitarist Buddy Guy produced some of his most iconic blues and also some of his most idiosyncratic. “A Man of Many Words” finds the pair veering into Memphis soul tricked out with blazing fret-work and raspy shrieks, while “Rollin' and Tumblin'” and the grunting “Feelin' Good / What I'd Say” head off in the opposite direction, showing their proficiency in stripped-down country blues.
