The North Carolina singer, composer and pastor was born into poverty, spending his early years leading a life of crime before surrendering to God at a revival meeting. On top of founding Charlotte’s revered New Life Community Choir, Kee has dropped a string of solo albums since the mid-’80s that reflect his gift for bridging traditional and urban contemporary gospel.
