Like the spiffied-up younger brother of Baltimore club music caught kicking it with a buncha crunk delinquents, Jersey club rolled out of Newark in the ‘90s but came into its own when trap let the hip-hop dogs out on the EDM dance floor. Blending bouncing 4/4 breaks and rapid-fire two-step beats with finely chopped R&B vocals and blingy synth and string samples, the genre is still the best dressed of the bunch.
