Editors’ Notes Jeff Beck emerged from the fertile world of mid-'60s English guitarists and quickly established himself as one of the world's best. Beck's tenure in The Yardbirds produced several hits and set the stage for his solo career. Through various incarnations—under his own name, The Jeff Beck Group, and the short lived Beck, Bogert & Appice—he continued to deliver high-caliber blues-based fretwork. While he never had the commercial impact of his former bandmates Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, he's been a hugely influential figure, lauded for his boundary-pushing technique and tireless experimentation.
