Inspired by Burro Banton

Most famous for his threateningly gravelly voice, Burro Banton is a veteran of the ‘70s/'80s sound system wars. His skills on the mic inspired the next generation of dancehall stars. As one of the first DJ's to address grittier social issues, Burro influenced legends-to-be like Bounty Killer and Capleton, and fired some of the earliest shots that sparked the hip-hop/dancehall marriage of the late ‘80s/early ‘90s.
