Hussein Suleiman: Africa Month

Blending the richness of African culture with contemporary designs, Somali fashion designer Hussein Suleiman co-founded the Amsterdam-based fashion and lifestyle brand, Daily Paper, in 2012. For Africa Month, and to celebrate the many wonderful aspects of the continent, we asked Suleiman to create a playlist that reflects what Africa means to him; here you’ll find tracks from Venom, Gemini Major, Amadou & Mariam, Black Sherif, Ebo Taylor, Nviiri The Storyteller, Obongjayar and more. “This playlist is reflective of the rich and varying sounds of Africa,” Suleiman tells Apple Music. “From old gems to future sounds, I wanted to present a glimpse into how I experience music from music from the continent. These artists that influence and inspire me on a daily basis as I make my way through the rest of the world.”
