Editors’ Notes Henry Mancini's meticulously arranged compositions shaped the sound of American film and television for decades. He was also skilled at incorporating modern ideas into his classically inspired works; the sweeping strings and bright horns of 1974's “African Symphony” ride a proto-disco groove, while the subtle orchestration on country star Charley Pride's “All His Children” revealed Mancini's knowledge of Nashville's ideals.
