Haunt sound like they’re from the ’80s, and that’s a huge compliment. It’s precisely what Trevor William Church had in mind when he founded the project in 2017. Breaking with the doom-metal style associated with the singer/guitarist’s other band, Beastmaker, Haunt have unleashed a stack of albums that proudly worship at the altar of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. This means endless feasts of classical-influenced guitars, serpentine melodies and galloping rhythms that would make Iron Maiden proud. If you ever find yourself leading an army into battle against a horde of ogres, Haunt would definitely make for the perfect soundtrack.
