Give Peace a Chance

Musicians of the ‘60s thought they could stop a war with a great song…and stranger still, they were probably right. Recorded in a Montreal hotel room during his and Yoko Ono's honeymoon, John Lennon's “Give Peace a Chance” was a rallying cry—or as he described it, a commercial for peace. Bob Marley and Elvis Costello (covering his friend Nick Lowe) took the spirit into the ‘70s. On a tougher note, Dylan weighed in with his angriest protest song.
