

The man country fans know affectionately as Ol' Possum is best known for his '60s classics, but he continued to churn out powerhouse tunes well beyond that decade. In 1978 he showed he could turn a James Taylor song like "Bartender's Blues" into a hardcore honky-tonk weeper, and on 2000's "Sinners and Saints" he proved that a senior citizen could still rip out a raucous honky-tonking track.
