Galaxie 500: Influences

Galaxie 500: Influences

In the late '80s, Galaxie 500 helped launch a quiet revolution in indie rock, rejecting speed and noise in favor of a fragile and languid sound. The Boston-based trio took inspiration from offbeat art-psych collective Red Krayola, left-of-center classic rocker Neil Young, proto-punks Television, first-wave indie outfit The Feelies, and dream pop pioneers Cocteau Twins, among others.
