Formed in 2018, Gable Price and Friends import anthemic indie-rock energy and ardent, emo-like vocals into nuanced pop songs dealing with Christian themes. The group assembled while at ministry school in 2017 to perform singer and guitarist Price’s original music; their first EP arrived in 2018, their debut album, Fractioned Heart, following in 2020. The latter was chock-full of addictive and lyrically erudite songs about spiritual self-inquiry, including “Heretic” and “Underdressed.” “I Need You,” from their 2022 EP If I’m Being Honest…, further heightened the group’s profile with its shout-along refrains and references to scripture and C. S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters. Across all their projects, Price and company have consistently turned out intelligent Christian music that pulls no punches, either lyrically or in its livewire band arrangements.
