Fusion: Jazz-Rock in the '70s

As soon as the creative energy behind the fusion movement got the likes of Miles Davis adding his talent to the sound, it was clear that jazz rock fusion was poised to explode. By the ‘70s, Davis was joined by acts like Steely Dan, Return to Forever, and Joni Mitchell, incorporating the grittier textures of rock's electric guitars and epic drum kits into the improvisational world of jazz.
