Fred Hammond Essentials

Known for his soulful tenor and charismatic stage presence, singer and producer Fred Hammond first entered the spotlight as the bassist for legendary gospel quartet The Winans before cofounding the acclaimed groups Commissioned and Radical for Christ. Launching his prolific solo career in 1991, Hammond went on to win multiple Dove Awards and take home the 2008 GRAMMY® for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album. His stirring performances have also launched him into the pop charts, where he brought his inspirational message to a sizable crossover audience.
