Editors’ Notes Japanese producer Foodman works at the intersection of a multitude of genres, subverting traditional dance music to make his own technicolour world. On “AWA BURO”, from 2015 album Couldwork, sparse instrumentals dance under stark samples to create a washed out symphony. In 2016 he collaborated with Bo Ningen’s Taigen Kawabe on the psychedelic dream sequence that is “Beybey”. Foodman’s musical vocabulary only gets wider and more futuristic with time, as heard on the jazz-infused 2018 single “SAUNA”, which erupts with bursts of synth notes and percussion.
