Foghat Essentials

Foghat Essentials

For a brief period in the '70s, British blues-rockers Foghat enjoyed the excesses of success thanks to their devotion to heavy, greasy slabs of guitar boogie. Formed by various ex-members of Savoy Brown, the Londoners hit the ground running with their '72 self-titled debut album, and their formula of no-nonsense, three-chord rock, embellished by guitarist/vocalist "Lonesome" Dave Peverett's epic solos, brought them to the Top 20 by the middle of the decade. Punk and disco undid their stardom, but various iterations of Foghat were still chooglin' well into the 21st century.
