Factory Records: Singles and More

With the founding of Factory Records, Manchester became an unexpected home for independent post-punk and dance music in late-‘70s and ‘80s Britain. Singles tell a big part of the label's story, whether it's the infectious synth pop of OMD, the moody post-punk of Joy Division, or the acid-washed “Madchester” moves of Happy Mondays. These are the tunes that brought Manchester to the world.
