Editors’ Notes The son of an Argentinian bullfighter, Emmanuel has been called the King of Mexican Latin Pop, and his astronomical record sales can validate that. He launched his career in the '70s to immediate success in Latin America; by the ‘80s his star was also shining brightly in Spain. A genial tenor, his voice has a lingering presence that spreads like a silk sheet over a bed of chorus vocals. Emmanuel's songs echo the production standards of the era in which they were recorded, and although he's mostly known for his ballads, he has recorded uptempo pop and even embraced New Wave aesthetics.
