This ambitious Southern California sextet has been blending punk and surf rock with pre-Khmer Rouge Cambodian pop since 2001, when brothers Ethan and Zac Holtzman met expat singing sensation Chhom Nimol in a Long Beach nightclub. The group concentrated on Cambodian covers before shifting their focus to original material exploring interracial romance, assimilation, and other cross-cultural topics, in beautiful, Southeast Asian-flavored psychedelic grooves that incorporate Latin percussion and '60s soul.
