Dani Faiv slipped into the Italian rap scene via Grand Riserva collective’s Toilette Mixtape in 2014. After more collaborations as well as mentorship from Jack the Smoker, Faiv released his debut project Teoria del contrario in 2016. His lyrics are chock full of pop arcana, whether it’s beloved video-game hero Yoshi, the film E.T. or Milan vs Liverpool in the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final. These references serve as nostalgia for a life immersed in youth culture, while trap and reggaetón beats make for a playfully assertive sound.
