Caedmon's Call Essentials

When Houston-based Caedmon's Call first arrived on the Christian music scene in 1994, there was a big void to fill. Their folk/alt-rock sound, distinctive harmonies, and creative percussion brought organic, acoustic passion back to the genre. Some would even say Caedmon's Call were groundbreaking, elevating the whole scene and paving the way for even more acoustic wunderkinds like Bebo Norman, Jill Phillips, Waterdeep, and Andrew Peterson. In 2010, after a myriad of personnel changes, the group regrouped to release Raising Up the Dead, an album in keeping with the spirited, compelling sense of community that has defined it from the beginning.
