Coodjinburra singer-songwriter Budjerah Julum Slabb has been prolific yet reliable since debuting in 2020 while still in his teens. Crafting smooth, hummable pop with playful soul and funk flourishes, Budjerah has also displayed impeccable taste when choosing collaborators. Early mentor Matt Corby produced his self-titled first EP in 2021, and he teamed up with PNAU for the club-friendly banger “Stranger Love.” Budjerah has only expanded his audience since then, nailing a high-profile guest turn with Ed Sheeran on the delicately catchy “2step” and scoring a platinum hit in Australia with the straight-talking “Therapy.” And on 2026’s “Gentleman”—the title track of his debut album—he flashes back to the glory days of disco for a danceable love song that offers to “spoil you like the royal family do.”
