Editors’ Notes Brett Young is the kind of artist who can't be pigeonholed. He's best known as a country singer, but his approach encompasses a lot more. A native Californian as influenced by pop singer/songwriters as country crooners, Young came roaring out of the gate in 2016 with a debut hit that was pure Nashville, the twang-heavy "Sleep Without You." But he's just as comfortable delivering a mandolin-flecked take on Leonard Cohen's modern pop standard "Hallelujah" or digging into the classic soul song bag to unfurl a powerfully pleading version of The Temptations' evergreen "Ain't Too Proud To Beg."
