Editors’ Notes Born in 1970, Brad Mehldau is one of the most highly acclaimed pianists of his generation—and best known as the leader of a wonderful long-running trio. Mehldau has the history of jazz piano at his fingertips but also draws upon both classical romanticism and innovative rock, especially on 2002's influential Largo. His trio's repertoire includes songs by Radiohead, Oasis, and Soundgarden. Mehldau performed his first concerto, "The Brady Bunch Variations for Piano and Orchestra," in 2007, and has subsequently moved further into both electronics and Americana, with no foreseeable limitations to impede him.
