Bonnie Raitt Essentials

Bonnie Raitt was actually a legend before she ever became a star. She spent the ‘70s and ‘80s mixing folk, blues, soul, and rock, and she could put a fresh face on Robert Johnson's “Walking Blues” with her jumping, urgent version or tug on your tear ducts with her soulful slant on the John Prine ballad “Angel from Montgomery.” With a rep as a roots music master in her back pocket, she went on to achieve mainstream success in the early ‘90s with hits like the slinky, sultry soul-rocker “Something to Talk About” and the heartbreaking, country-tinged “I Can't Make You Love Me.”
