Vibraphone/marimba master Bobby Hutcherson is most famous for his angular '60s "new thing" sound, but he never stopped evolving. His approach expanded in the ‘70s, encompassing funky, delayed guitar effects (“Ntu”), atmospheric electric keys (“Love Song”), and frenetic, layered rhythms (“Rosewood”), without ever sacrificing the lyrical quality of his mallet magic.
