Bluey: Favourite Classical Music

Classical music is a huge part of Bluey, the brilliantly funny and often moving animated series about family love, emotional growth, trust, and friendship—its soundtrack composer Joff Bush is a dab hand at weaving famous classical pieces into many of its episodes. You’ll hear Mozart in the very first one, “Magic Xylophone,” while in Season 2, Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz of the Flowers” accompanies Bingo and Bluey as they share—and squabble over—ice cream. Bach, Holst, Brahms, Ravel, and many more…they’re all there, as Bluey and her sister learn to navigate life with the help of their parents. This playlist is curated by Bush himself, who tells Apple Music Classical: “There are many wonderful pieces from classical music that are featured, referenced, or helped inspire the music in Bluey. Here’s a playlist of some of my favorites—listen out for them in the show, too!” From the mighty “Jupiter” from Holst’s Planets to the joyful opening movement to “Spring” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, this playlist not only serves as a window onto Bluey’s charmingly chaotic world, but is the perfect introduction to the magical world of classical music.
