Bloc Party Essentials

Like a number of their post-Britpop peers in the aughts, Bloc Party rode a wave of press to land a massively successful debut LP. But the lasting impact of Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack's band is far from a product of hype. Where 2005's Silent Alarm showed off the group's ability to marry fast and angular riffs with big hooks, 2008's Intimacy proved they can go beyond the indie rock status quo and dip into EDM aesthetics, while they returned to their guitar-centric roots for 2012's Four.
