Editors’ Notes Southern California's Black Veil Brides are at the vanguard of the evolution of post-hardcore and metallic rock. They stayed true to screamo on their 2010 debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, putting intricate guitar solos near the genre's signature breakdowns. Andy Biersack soon showed that throat-bleeding force was just an accessory of his muscular baritone, bringing hard rock melody in step with the band's glam theatrics (“Set the World on Fire”). They keep exploring both territories—sometimes in the same song, as in the punishing percussion and ascending chorus of the anthemic “Revelation.”
