Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's riffy, high-octane tunes have their roots in a lot of classic rock ‘n' roll. Their DIY, classic rock spirit springs from the scuzzy guitar and cool glam sneer of T. Rex's “Born to Boogie” and borrows from The Rolling Stones' dark and doomy psychedelic phase (“Citadel”). And of course, the ramshackle, woozy garage rock of The Brian Jonestown Massacre's “Not If You Were the Last Dandy On Earth” inspired their hazy, altered-consciousness sound.
