Big Daddy Kane Essentials

The rap game is famous for its factionalism, but pretty much anywhere you go in the world of hip-hop, the biggest and the best give props to Big Daddy Kane. The legendary MC born Antonio Hardy in Brooklyn began his career in the mid-‘80s with a Queens outfit called the Juice Crew, but it didn't take long for Kane's talent to bust out on its own. By 1988, he was off and running with a solo career that brought him both underground cred and mainstream acclaim, and his tongue-twisting rhymes influenced rappers for decades to come. Hear him lay down some of hip-hop's foundation right here.
