Founded in Chicago in the early '80s, house took over the disco revolution. Starker and more hypnotic new sounds filtered through the U.S. before reaching Europe, where they transformed into the likes of trance and techno. The '90s saw house adopted by big name pop stars like Madonna, and has yet to leave the radio since. Time to let some of its originators school you, including Basement Jaxx and MK.
